Welcome to Green Britain

Green Britain is a focus on environmental issues and incentives for UK households. We aim to bring you the latest news, developments and offers from across industries to make Britain a greener, healthier place.

Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme

gbwindIn April this year the Carbon Trust ended funding for renewable energy installations in favour of the new renewable heat incentive scheme with enhanced Feed In Tariffs available for every household generating up to 5 Megawatts of electricity using Solar power, Small-scale hydroelectric, Anaerobic digestion or wind turbine installations.

Depending on the size of installation, payments are made for every Kilowatt produced and used by you. Additional payments are made for any surplus power fed back into the grid. The level of payments are currently guaranteed for a period of 25 years after installation and are tax free.

Don't generate before you insulate!

blue-insulationThere's little point in generating energy to simply throw it away! Up to 35% of energy used to keep many UK homes warm is lost to the environment through poor loft and wall insulation. With many grants and insulation incentives available from local government and energy companies, making your home efficient has never been more affordable, and in many cases is free.

If you haven't already done so, now's the time to insulate your house.
