Wind turbine installation company "Maden Design and Build"is enjoying rapid expansion thanks to the surge of interest in renewable energy generation thanks to the Feed In Tariffs.
The company, based in Berwick-upon-Tweed was recently granted planning permission to build a turbine on a Northumberland farm and is expecting orders for another fifty on the order books within the coming year which could create 20 local jobs over the next two years.
The company has also recently secured a deal with Swedish wind turbine producer Hannevind to add to its portfolio of products. These turbines provide a range from 5.5kw to 30kw with a 45kw machine in the pipeline for next year.
Simon Madensaid, co-founder of the company said: “These are turbines that can be extremely attractive to businesses. They are big enough to be useful but small enough to get through planning.”
Many small companies, farms and local groups are looking to cash in on harnessing the power of the wind and taking advantage of the new Feed in Tariffs which offer a high return on investment.
When we think of hydro-power, we most often imagine the huge power stations sited in places like Wales and Scotland.
